VEGAS Pro at Beverly Hills Film Festival red carpet

VEGAS Pro at the Beverly Hills Film Festival

VEGAS Pro was proud to help sponsor the 18th annual Beverly Hills Film Festival (BHFF) and be a part of hosting the over 30,000 attendees at this year’s event. We would like to express our thanks to Nino Simone, President and Founder, Doreen Danielson, Executive Director and team for their hard work in managing the event and showing us true red carpet treatment at this exciting festival. We are overjoyed be have been a part of the work they’ve done in hosting over 130 screenings from more than 50 countries and over 200 screenwriters at this year’s BHFF and were excited to take part in the events and panel discussions around the film festival.

The BHFF serves as a cinematic cultural template for emerging filmmakers and screenplay writers and supports their career goals, and is a veritable who’s who of the film industry. This year’s red carpet attendees included Bob Saget, Director for the BHFF screening of his film “Benjamin”, as well as several of Saget’s former “Full House” co-stars such as John Stamos and Candice Cameron-BureJohn MayerTom Green, and Dr. Drew are just a few of the several other Hollywood celebrities graced the red carpet on opening night.

In the second installment of her VEGAS Pro Creator Series, Kirsten Collins broadcast live from the BHFF red carpet with interviews of Beate and Declan Mayne from Rattlesnake Productions who were on location promoting their film “In Your Face” about photographer Neil Zlozower, who made a surprise appearance together with Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Zlozower’s provocative work with bands (including Kiss, Guns n’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Van Halen, Korn, Rob Zombie, Ratt, Anthrax, Slipknot, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Henry Rollins, and many more) has greatly influenced modern cover work of music magazines. Collins then followed up with an interview with the President of The Beverly Hills Film FestivalNino Simone, about his personal highlight of the festival – “making [filmmakers] dreams come true and giving [them] a platform to showcase their work”.

The most notable submission of the BHFF this year was “Christian Audigier: The VIF”, which documents the life of fashion designer and entrepreneur, having won The Golden Palm Award, as well as awards for 2018 Film Award for Best Cinematography, and the 2018 Jury Award for Best Documentary. Find a full list of the festival’s awards recipients at the Beverly Hills Film Festival Awards page.

VEGAS Pro also had its moment in the spotlight as Ole Schell (of Action 8 Films) represented the software during the panel discussion on “Relevant Technology in Filmmaking”, that included additional panel members Frederico Lapenda (Film Producer), Emmy-nominated film producer Paul Ruven, and Alfonso Arau (Film Producer, Actor, Voice Talent – notably from “Romancing the Stone”, “Like Water for Chocolate”, “Three Amigos!”, and many more). We were excited to be part of such an insightful and passionate discussion about technology’s place in storytelling.

Once again, we are honored to have been allowed the chance to work alongside the BHFF and offer aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to present their work. Thank you to everyone who shared their insights and experience about VEGAS Pro with us and we look forward to seeing your work with VEGAS Pro on the big screen!
